Effective 15 July 2026 · Draft for pre-launch legal review
1. Accepting these terms
By installing or using ReadAloud AI, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the extension.
2. What ReadAloud AI provides
ReadAloud AI is a browser reading and productivity tool. It extracts readable text or a selected passage, turns it into speech and may highlight the spoken word on the original page. Availability depends on the webpage, browser, selected voice, operating system and third-party speech services.
3. Not medical or professional advice
The extension is not a medical device, accessibility certification, diagnostic tool or substitute for professional advice. It does not promise treatment, educational or health outcomes.
4. Your responsibilities
You may use ReadAloud AI only where you are entitled to access and process the content. Do not use it to infringe copyright, bypass access controls, violate a website’s terms, harass others or break applicable law.
5. Third-party content and services
ReadAloud AI does not own or control the webpages you narrate. Browser/System voices and optional cloud voices are provided or processed by third parties and may change, become unavailable or have their own terms. Third-party trademarks belong to their owners.
6. Availability and updates
The extension is provided on an “as available” basis. Updates may fix errors, improve performance, change compatible browsers or discontinue unsupported features. We aim to describe material changes clearly.
7. Free and future paid features
The core launch edition is free. Optional paid features may be offered later. Any price, billing period, trial, renewal and refund right will be shown before purchase. A third-party payment provider may process payment details under its own privacy terms.
8. Voluntary support
A one-off contribution made through the support link is voluntary. It does not buy, reserve or unlock product features, create a subscription, guarantee continued availability or represent a charitable donation. The checkout page will show the amount and seller before you confirm payment.
9. Intellectual property
ReadAloud AI’s original code, design, branding and website content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. The extension also includes open-source software under its stated licence. These terms do not transfer ownership of ReadAloud AI or third-party content to you.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, no guarantee is made that narration or highlighting will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every page or purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable consumer rights.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using ReadAloud AI by uninstalling it. Access may be suspended where reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, third parties or comply with law.
12. Changes
Material changes will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
13. Contact and governing law
Before launch, this section must state the contracting legal entity, postal address, support email, governing law and courts. Contact: Support email will be published before launch.
